DEVISING THEATRE - COLLABORATION
This workshop is a great quarter/semester long project and teaches students how to devise theatre. Using the Shakespeare play of your choosing, your students will explore and interpret the text, find new meaning, discover how to use their talents to contribute to a production, and work together to reimagine a classic tale. This workshop is based on Yonder Window’s own devising process in productions such as The Dream Project; A multidisciplinary, multicultural reimagining of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Creative Crusade; The Story of Solitude, a virtual devised production exploring how humans from around the globe find solitude in uncertain times. This workshop is great for performing arts schools or those with dedicated theatre curriculums and has been taught at both Laguardia High School and The Professional Performing Arts High School in Manhattan.
